Afghan Opposition Publications: The Afghan opposition publications were produced by various elements of the Afghan opposition ranging from rebel parties to exile organizations. The publications included in this list range from one-time reports to weekly updates on the situation in Afghanistan. Where known, language and type of publication are given in parentheses following title. Names of rebel leaders and place of publication, if known, are also given.
Scope: The Afghanistan bibliography is divided into five categories: books, articles, government documents, non-governmental publications, and Afghan opposition publications. The literature listed here pertains to all of the various aspects of U.S. policy toward Afghanistan, as well as other topics related to the Afghan war and Afghan society. References to these publications were obtained from the Library of Congress, National Security Archive files, and on field trips to Pakistan and Afghanistan.
